Women & Girls Cricket at TDCC
Women and Girls cricket at TDCC is a thriving and growing part of the Club, where players, parents and friends enjoy watching and playing cricket in a friendly, supportive and fun environment.
Our 2025 season, built on the successes of our 2024 season, where Club history was made by fielding our first ever Women’s 1st XI (hardball) team! This was in addition to competing in our 2nd season in the Softball League too!
We also had our first Junior Girls players move up to play for the Women’s 1st XI, showing the success of our pathway from our Junior Girls section to our Senior Women’s team.
The Girls Juniors had teams play in 5 different age groups in local Surrey leagues, competing in over 50 matches, including league games, tournaments, cups and friendlies. We also have a few girls in the Surrey Performance pathway.
Coaching
The coaching sessions are fun, dynamic and inclusive, giving players of all abilities, ages and experience the opportunity to develop new skills and match-play in a relaxed and engaging way.
For Girls Juniors, Thames Ditton CC provides both Girls-only coaching and Age Grade (mixed boys & girls) coaching across the Winter and Summer.
For the Women’s Squad, training is provided over the Winter and Summer, and includes Hardball, Softball, Transition to Hardball, and “New to Cricket” training.
The coaching at TDCC is delivered by the Chris Harrison Cricket Coaching Academy. Chris is the Head of Cricket at Hampton School. Chris and his team have a proven track record at TDCC and their passion for cricket and ability to bring out the best from each player is why our players are doing so well. All Chris’ coaching team are ECB qualified, DBS checked, members of the ECB CA and First Aid qualified.

Pathways & Destinations
We are especially proud of our growing pathways into Women’s Cricket:
Girls Juniors → Women’s 1st XI and Senior Cricket
Our Junior Girls section continues to grow and provide a strong player pool providing playing opportunities for both the Women’s XI and Senior teams over next 2 years.
Softball → Softball and Hardball Cricket
Developing Softball players who wish to only play softball cricket as well as helping those who wish to transition to hardball cricket. Softball cricket is seen as a destination in its own right, as well as being a useful lead into hardball cricket.
New Players → Softball & Hardball
Attracting new players to the club, whether they are new to cricket, returners or those who are experienced, is a key part of our growth and how we integrate with and represent our local community.
